Red Flag Warning & Air Quality Advisory – Aug. 5
A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Gunnison County from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5 for gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. A reminder that Gunnison County remains in Stage 2 Fire Restrictions and no open burning or campfires are allowed.
In addition, an Air Quality Health Advisory is in effect from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4 to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5. Areas of moderate to heavy smoke from out-of-state wildfires will be possible across Colorado through Wednesday morning. If smoke is thick in your area, you should remain indoors and limit outdoor activity. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults.
