Elk Fire – GNN Zone 220 Reduced to NO EVACUATION Status – 7.24.26

Evacuation Zone GNN 220 has been reduced to from Pre-Evacuation to NO EVACUATION status effective at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24.  This includes properties along Highway 149 north of the Hinsdale County line, south of the Whinnery Ranch gravel pit, and east and west to the National Forest boundaries.

Fire personnel have completed a containment line in the area should the fire move north, and favorable weather conditions are expected. However, conditions may change quickly, and if you are returning to your property, you should stay prepared to evacuate if conditions change.

Forest Service Road 868 and 867 from the south to the Forest Service Boundary remain closed. The National Forest closures will remain in place.
