Recovery: Activities that help to restore critical community infrastructure, functions, and manage reconstruction
Recovery begins at the same time as the response phase of a disaster. It is no longer viewed as an activity that starts only after response operations end. Because response and recovery occur simultaneously, coordination, information sharing, resource prioritization, and joint planning are all critical to successful recovery efforts.
The Office of Emergency Management for Gunnison County and the Town of Gunnison leads recovery efforts, beginning with mass care services, impact assessments, and emergency debris management. After the response phase is declared complete, the EOC continues to operate to support the transition into a longer term recovery structure.
